My day began at 6 a.m. today.

Now that I’m fully back to work, (I have been going to work only 2 days, a week), I was looking forward to doing everything I had written on my daily planner. One thing I was most excited about, is a food drive that was scheduled for the kids under the Art of Music Foundation Program in Korogocho Slums, Nairobi. We supplied food packages and vegetables, sanitary towels and inner  wears to teenage girls, among other things.

Art of Music Foundation is a community programme that involves over 500 children in Korogocho – one of Kenya’s biggest slums that is home to about 300,000 urban poor and thousands more children in 10 satellite areas around Nairobi, 1 in Kiambu and 4 in Mombasa through the Link Up Programme. The programme uses music education to provide the youth with opportunities to better themselves and their community. They do this by instilling in them the life skills that come with the discipline of studying art music. Income generating opportunities are also provided in the program.

So, I got to the office one and half hours before time😊so that I could hold a few online meetings for my brand and a project TRM is working on. I then worked a little bit and headed to the center at 9 a.m.  Being my first time at Korogocho, I was a bit curious so I took some pics, as the place was filled with much activity. Stepping into the center was so serene. The place was filled with so much hope and dreams. The teenagers were so full of life! I was grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to interact with these precious kids. Truly, I will be back!!!!

My morning was well spent and I made a few friends too!

Take a look at some pics;

The initiative was a partnership between GA Insurance and the Art of Music Foundation, Korogocho.

This is why I began the Every Child Is Your Child Project; so much fulfillment! You can check it out; https://nellytuluba.com/eciyc

Always praying with and for you:-)

With love,
