On 1st January 2020, I receive a phone call and it disorients my day a little bit. So I don’t go back to sleep even if I had attended the New Year’s Eve Service, the previous night. Instead, I text my friend and we begin to chat. Since I had shared a little bit a week earlier with this particular person, I begin to explain what had happened that morning. The more I continued this chat, the worse I felt.

Then the Holy Spirit told me, “STOP IT! Otherwise, this issue could be the distraction for the entire year. Your focus will be centered around this hence not getting what’s supposed to be  done this year.” He went on, “Let the direction for this matter find you doing faith exploits. Don’t even talk about it! It is well!”

The Word of God came with so much finality. I even had to tell my friend that the issue was settled and that I was fine….I couldn’t even continue texting anymore about it…..And I just decided there and then not to allow anything to distract me- nothing and nobody. I committed myself to fulfilling my purpose each and every day, knowing that according to God’s Word, everything else was falling into place. Everything was working out for my good. That the guidance and direction I needed for any matter will find me changing my world with the investment God has deposited in my personality. I mean it is settled.

See, distractions bring fear which is not from God…..When one gets distracted, they spend so much time fearing instead of effecting changes. And fear never works😃The Word of God is what works. I have realized that anytime I allow myself to fear, it paralyzes my thoughts thereby causing me to stagnate, no significant evident progress. So, why should I spend time worrying when I can spend time praying or declaring words of faith over a challenge? I mean, if God cares, why should we care about something together?😂😂

Philippians  4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

You’re not wiser than God. Be careful for NOTHING! Relax, God cares. Also challenges are bread. Eat them by faith. The victory is assured. This year, we are taking the war to things. We are not on the defense. No, we are not using faith to just defend ourselves. We are on the offensive. We cannot be shaken! The Lord has given us authority and power, as His kids. Utilize this power and authority. Beloved, you have the ability, physical and mental strength to face any situation, no matter how tough it is, and stand tall in the end. Just give time to meditation of the Word and find out more about who you are in Christ and what His death on the cross means for the child of God.

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Don’t allow the devil to sit on you. He was made of no effect more than 2,000 years ago!!!

Col 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Hebrews 2:14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil

Anyway, instead of allowing distractions, focus on what God is saying about you in His Word. God believes in you. You’re His Beloved. He is in you, with you and for you. You and God form the majority. He has given you all power, the physical & mental strength and ability over everything in this world including satan. You can give your life a meaning by the Word of God!!

Which one is the loudest voice in your head? Is it society or family or friends or culture or current trends? Who influences your thoughts, words and actions?

Brothers and sisters, if we allow the Word of God to influence our thoughts, they’ll reproduce after the Word. The Word of God cannot distract you!! When faced with issues or challenges, let your first thought be the Word of God and not self pity or discouraging thoughts.

The Holy Spirit then told me, “I know this is an important matter but if you allow it, it will be the devil’s strategy for distracting you from your goals this year. Relax, I have everything under control.”😭😭😅😍😍

Let’s  also talk a little bit about PAST MISTAKES.

Past Mistakes can also be a source of distraction.

Do you know that you’re a new creation? Do you know that you’re indescribable and that only the Word of God can fully define and describe you. Mistakes, people and circumstances cannot define you. Only the person with much revelation can describe you. Because you’re born of God and you’re PERFECT!!

2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1 Peter  1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Beloved, don’t carry the mistakes of 2019 into 2020. The Lord is your riddance!

Colossians  1:14 In whom we have REDEMPTION through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins…

Redemption here does NOT mean, to redeem. It means riddance. Riddance means the action of getting rid of a troublesome or unwanted person or thing.

This means that Christ gets rid of every -ve thing from you, whether it is sickness or mistakes. The day I got to know that Christ is my riddance, oh buoy😭😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I do not allow anything negative to stay in my body, thoughts, emotions or spirit!!!

Psalms  103:12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Isaiah  44:22  I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

We are completely free. Christ purchased our freedom!!

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

And even if your heart condemns you, remember God is greater than your heart. So deliberately refuse any condemnation to dominate your heart or mind.

1 John 3:20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Precious saints, let’s enjoy this liberty that Christ purchased for us. Don’t allow your thoughts to wander!! Wallowing in self pity is not for you. Tame your thoughts and consequently, your words. Let your thoughts and words inspire faith,  hope and love, first in you and everybody else you interact with.

Did you make a misstep last year? Did you under utilize an opportunity that God brought your way? What did you do? It doesn’t matter brethren. Don’t carry the mistakes and regrets of 2019 into 2020. The Lord is your riddance.

In 2020, decide that you’ll not be distracted by anything or anyone. Make it even a new year resolution😃…..Also, write down your goals by the guidance of the Holy Spirit then aggressively, go ahead and achieve them. The grace of God will cause people and things to locate you. It has made you the most preferred one. Grace is causing you to meet the right people at the right place and at the right time. Christ in you is your advantage. Also dream BIG. Do something that will demand the attention of heaven and its resources.😃😃 NOW is the time to start. START EARLY.

Remember, greatness lies in meeting a need. Change the lives of the people around you, even if it is in a small way. You can buy lunch for someone in need or pay school fees for a child in need or even win souls and pray with God’s people…..There are some things that have eternal value. When you have an opportunity to bless God’s people, do it. The inheritance of God is people. When a man counts his inheritance, he counts material wealth but when God counts His inheritance, He counts people.  Value and love God’s people.

Much love,

Nexcellent.
