Happy New Year! A little late, I know, but it’s been a while. I have missed you all!

I would like to share with you a few thoughts concerning 2021 and of course, my new year resolutions🙏 Most of my goals remain the same but my approach for this year is very different.

INTIMACY WITH GOD

My theme for 2021 is fellowship with God, intimacy with God. I want to know God at a deeper level. It is amazing when you get to hear about Him from Himself directly LoL. The testimonies and sermons are great but it is even more impactful when He gets to tell you who He truly is and who you are in Him. And so far, so good. I am spending hours in the morning and evening fellowshipping with God through His Word and prayer. The communion continues throughout the day but I love my morning and evening sessions most because it is in my house hehe so I can lift my hands/kneel down/lie down/shout/laugh😂😂e.t.c. Fellowshipping with God with no prayer requests….But what about my heart desires and personal goals? See, the lesser is included in the greater. As I fellowship with God, everything else is perfected. I don’t even have to necessarily voice it. The other day, God gave me such a big idea concerning my job. Seriously, I would never have thought that way. So, I am staying on my knees and in the Word this whole year because I know this is where real transformation takes place.

EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

One of the resolutions I have made this year is to GROW. I have made a choice to acknowledge ignorance in any area of my life where the light of the Word has not shone yet. I have stopped legitimizing excuses and mediocrity in any area of my life, no matter how justified I feel. I actually layed hands on my head and made a prayer to God that as I study the Word, may any belief system that is not consistent with my spiritual development and the nations’ transformation dissipate. May my mind be totally renewed.😂😂🙈🙈 So, excellence is no longer one of the options, it is mandatory. I have made a resolve that my scope of relevance will not end at the pulpit. If God has given me the opportunity to be part of any project, then the results must really manifest the excellence and character of God. A time is coming when the church will not be perceived as a bother to civilization. Gone are the days when we were the ones who always needed help. Not anymore because the Helper Himself, the Extraordinary Strategist – the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in you permanently. We will be called to give advice and insight to governments. We have the solution to the questions, life has posed to men. Myles Munroe set an example in this area. I prayed to God that my character, mindset, and personality will be influenced through His Word so that there is not even a hint of pride in there. I am so hungry for God😂😂 And the beautiful thing is that there is always more.

SHINE SO BRIGHTLY

In 2021, I not only want to arise and shine but I want to shine so brightly that kings will have to come to the brightness of my arising. In Isaiah 60, we see that kings do not come to your arising but to the brightness of your arising. People are attracted to value and where value is, there will be demand. That gift of God that is in you, how sharpened is it? Maybe, for example, your friends or relatives or even strangers are already acknowledging that gift or talent, but kings will only come to the most refined version of your gift. If you are a chef, can the president eat your food? Maybe you are midway growth-wise, but the world will not keep clapping for you, if you are not the best. Remember the world is able to easily differentiate what is genuine from what is fake and mediocrity from excellence. Remember the star that led the wise men to where Christ was born? When you become a star, you will be easily located. You won’t even have to travel or shout to the world. Your influence and nobility will cause you to stand out. Also, key to note is that God is the one who causes men to advance. So, as you work smart, God is causing all things to work for your good. Christ is your advantage! Anyway, I have made a resolve to be the best of myself this year onwards. Also, remember that we are not in a competition. We are all running our own individual races and we are gifted differently. Ensure you walk in the fulfillment of your unique purpose in this world because nobody else can do what you can do.

I also know that success and growth have to be planned for so I am careful to do this. The only growth that comes automatically is biological growth. Any other type of growth has to be planned for. And peradventure you acquire success without planning, it will not be sustainable. One man of God once said that success that is not planned for can destroy a man, you haven’t seen the true colours of a man until he gets some power and money🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️These 2 amplify character. Anyway, you have to give yourself to discipline and hard work. And as you fellowship with the Holy Ghost, your efforts will be amplified. Grace will make it easy for you and you will be working from a point of rest.

ACT ON GOD’S WORD BOLDLY

I have made a resolve to act on God’s Word and direction BOLDLY, no matter how contradictory it looks to the world. Depending on where we attend services or how we have been raised in this walk of faith, sometimes mindsets are developed that are not necessarily accurate or ones that inspire fear if we try to step outside the status quo. I wasted so much time in 2020 thinking of the what-ifs but now, I am on the go🙈🙈 I am no longer playing it safe. I am taking sides that reflect my convictions & persuasions in God and I am matching on without an ounce of fear or guilt…. Basically, I am allowing God to define my identity, not to some extent but in all aspects, as opposed to people’s expectations or systems. As I fellowship with the Holy Ghost, I know He will accurately guide me in the issues of life. That is why for me, fellowship with the Holy Spirit is very significant in 2021, actually from 2020. And I know boldness will be key, as I step into my purpose in this second phase of my walk of faith. So, if God said it then it becomes my Gospel. It is the final word. I would like to boldly win more people to Christ than I ever have and spread hope to people from all backgrounds through all available physical and virtual platforms. And I know to do all this, boldness is key. If it takes consistently updated social media platforms, website, podcast, live streams, meetups, outsourcing talent, lesser hours of sleep e.t.c (actually, most of these are part of my more specific goals😜) to achieve that, I will do it. By God, I will! And of course, being Nexcellent, excellence will be at manifest! So, I will stay on my knees and keep listening to Papa God’s insight and counsel then boldly act on it.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Lastly, personal development is something I have always engaged in but I have never been intentional about it. One of the first things I did this year was to develop a routine. This has helped me manage my time well and focus on what is important, including fitness for once😂😂🙈 Basically, I wrote down my vision then broke it down into daily tasks which will ultimately lead to the fulfillment of that vision. Increase in knowledge is also something I am key on. Since I am very busy, I have subscribed to an app where I am able to listen to audiobooks at only 800 shillings per month. This way, I am able to listen to a book at least once a week, sometimes even 2. I know many people prefer to read physical books but for me, it is all about optimizing meaning it is better to listen to 1 book per week than wait to read 1 book in 3 months. Anyway, I recently listened to an autobiography done by the female wrestlers, the Bella Twins called Incomparable. Yes, I watch wrestling sometimes😂😂😂😂 hahaha what a story of passion, discipline, resilience, and success, they are truly incomparable! Currently, I am listening to Don’t Settle for Safe by Sarah Jakes Roberts. I am also registering and attending numerous webinars, especially on management and Marketing. You can try the LinkedIn platform, they have diverse training courses on so many areas. Also working on that Masters degree and professional papers too. Investments and financial management, at a personal level, are also areas I am keen on.

The Holy Spirit was telling me the other day that I need to develop habits and values which will be kind of irreducible minimums, as I grow up hehe I know I’m already grown up already though. God told me to get myself out there and network and as I do that, opportunities will present themselves hence one of the reasons I am keen on personal development this year.

On a light note, I am also working on seeing my parents in Meru at least once in 2 months😂😂😂 I am intentionally planning for it. Our parents sacrifice/d so much for us to be comfortable, not to mention their prayers. My mum is my hero in this sector. Create time to be with your family, no matter how tight your schedule is, even if it is just a day. And don’t go ‘ukiwa umesimama.’😂😂😂 Buy something for them. It doesn’t have to be the whole supermarket😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈 Parents appreciate effort🙈🙈

In conclusion, I would like to urge you to dream big. Be very specific in your goal setting. Write that vision down and go through it everyday to remind yourself of where you are going. See yourself with the eyes of the spirit. Don’t judge yourself based on the expectations of your family or friends or even the world. See yourself becoming the best of yourself. See yourself favoured, not disadvantaged. See 2021 becoming your best year yet. Walk with boldness because God, the Creator of the universe lives in you and He is with you, in you, and for you! Stay in the Word of God and cheer up beloved because the Word of God works and it has never failed. And it won’t start failing with you😂😂😂 Stay in the fellowship with other believers too. Don’t miss church😅

I know me blogging about my new year resolutions puts me in a place of accountability from everyone who reads this but I don’t mind. In fact, I am even fuelled up to do more, utilizing the capabilities, gifts, competencies, and the ability of God at work in me!
